「TPP交渉の参加国は1人当たりのGDPが1万ドルを割るような国や、GDPは高くても人口が1000万人に満たない国ばかり。例えば、交渉参加国のひとつ、ベトナムは日本でいえば年収50万円前後。そんな国に日本製の薄型テレビが売れますか？　もし売れたとしても人口が少なければ大きな市場になりません。TPPの枠組みでは、結局、アメリカに売るしかないのです。ところが、日本の主な輸出品である車をアメリカに輸出する際の関税は2.5％でしかありません。さらに言えば、関税以上に円高の影響のほうがよっぽど大きい。どれくらいの円高が関税分の2.5％に相当するかというと、およそ2円前後です。TPP参加は、たったこの程度のメリットのために農業を含めた日本の基盤を売り払うということです」
